Family Reunion

English, German, Latin, Greek and many other languages descend from one ancestor, so many of their words are relatives. Each day brings sixteen words from four families. Pick four that you think belong together and check them; each family has one English word. You can make four mistakes. Look for patterns: where Latin and Greek have p, English often has f. The families are drafted and not yet checked against the dictionaries.
