- Hindi and Malayalam: every consonant already says a short a (क ka). A vowel sign changes it: कि ki, कू kū. Some signs are drawn before the consonant even though you say them after it.
- Arabic: print usually leaves out short vowels; small marks above or below a letter show them: بَ ba, بِ bi, بُ bu. Long vowels use a letter: با bā.
- You’re asked for a syllable in English letters, like ki. Pick a consonant, then a vowel sign, and check. The tiles don’t say how they sound: that’s the puzzle. If you need a reminder, open the Alphabet chart.
- Eight syllables a round. Start with See every sign to study them first.
